We are pleased to announce that the GrainPro and Neumann Kaffee Gruppe (NKG) recycling initiative has opened its doors to Europe via NKG Kala Hamburg.

 

In August 2023, Neumann Gruppe USA and GrainPro announced a collaboration with Continental Terminals, centered on providing a more accessible recycling option for the U.S. coffee community. By April 2024, this collaboration has successfully diverted 11 tons and counting of used coffee liners from landfills.

 

Now working together with Neumann Kaffee Gruppe, Europe-based coffee roasters can also ensure proper recycling for their GrainPro Hermetic Bags.

 

While hermetic bags and regular packaging can be safely disposed of through yellow bags or bins in Germany, only around 27% of collected plastics are actually recycled. Alternatively, used GrainPro Hermetic Bags and similar coffee liners can be sent to NKG Kala Hamburg Warehouse personally or via a preferred delivery service, wherein the bags will be prepared and sent to local recycling partners who fully recycle the bags.
