GrainPro Africa, a subsidiary of GrainPro Inc and will be the contracting entity for the Ghana distributor.

 

About the RfP

 

GrainPro Africa intend to appoint non-exclusive distributors to represent its operations in Ghana. The distributor(s) will focus generally on dry agricultural commodities for both internal trading (food security) and for the export market. The appointed distributor(s) will have a thorough understanding of agriculture sector in Ghana. GrainPro will provide product training to the distributor teams assigned to focus on our products. 

GrainPro will also offer a commission and good payment terms to the appointed distributors. 

 

GrainPro Africa - Ghana Distributor Requirements

 

1. Track record of registration and operational presence.
2. Presence of an existing or intension to build an in-country distribution network. 
3. Outline the team that will be dedicated to GrainPro representation in the country - including their CVs.
4. Willingness to stock and market GrainPro products in the Ghana market.
5. Sufficient warehouse space to accommodate stock of GrainPro products ordered.
6. Demonstrate understanding and experience in the agriculture sector, through team or organization engagement in the sector, by trading, importing, exporting etc.
7. Demonstrate established relationships within various agriculture value chain – financiers, policy makers, traders, farmers etc.
8. Clearly demonstrate the ability to finance the distributorship contract.
9. Importation of GrainPro products will require the distributor to have access to foreign currency to pay for stocks.
10. Demonstrate ability to lobby and get duty exemption for GrainPro products that are specifically focused in the Agriculture value chain towards providing competitive product to the end-user.
    

 

Request for Proposal

 

GrainPro Africa is requesting interested organizations that meet the requirements to submit a proposal outlining their suitability to be GrainPro distributors in Ghana. The proposal should be structured to clearly address each of the requirements.

 

Submission and Review Process

 

1. 1. Interested organisations are requested to submit a Letter of Intent (LoI) by 15 December 2020 registering their interest to bid.
      
   2. A question and answer session, to provide a better understanding of GrainPro Africa will be scheduled on 17 December 2020 via Zoom, for the organisations that will have submitted LoI.
   3. The full proposals should be submitted on or before 31 December 2020 and addressed as “Ghana Distributor BID” to: africa@grainpro.com and Irene Madumadu (irene@grainpro.com). 
   4. Review, shortlisting and interviews with shortlisted organizations will be done by 22 January 2021.
   5. Negotiations and Contracting is expected to commence by end January 2021.
