GrainPro Cocoons™(patented)

Loading a GrainPro Cocoon™

Overview:

Rectangular shaped gas tight (hermetic) envelopes made of flexible UV resistant white PVC. Designed for long term out- or indoor storage of agricultural commodities in bags. Can be set up in minutes at any site. Annual loss less than 0.25%. Life span of at least 10 years at outdoor conditions. Supplied in reinforced PVC bag with lifting straps.

A very large size Cocoon of  24 m (l) x 10 m (w) x 6 m (h) which can contain as much as 1,050 tonnes of bagged grain. Made of the same material as the Cocoons, but the hermetic sealing is achieved by double rows of  "watersnakes" (plastic tubes to be filled with water). The cover consists of three parts that are zipped together. Ideal for food security stocks or large commercial traders or processors. Extremely cost effective!

Gas tight liners are provided for standard or non-standard Flexible Intermediary Bulk Storage (FIBC) bags ("big bags" made of woven polypropelene). GrainPro can either deliver the gas tight bags in any volume or provide a complete set of FIBC + gas tight liner. Ideal for storing commodities in warehouses as semi bulk excluding need for fumigation, preventing moisture ingress and oxidation.

Overview:

For non toxic fumigation or long term storage of certain dry commodities normally stored in cold rooms. CO₂ gas is inserted through a special inlet to flush the O₂ out through an outlet cap at the top. Ideal for the organic food market and for those interested to replace toxic by non toxic methods or to save on energy. Simple and easy in operation.

GrainPro G-HF Cocoon™(patented)

GrainPro V-HF Cocoon™(patented)

Overview:

Use Vacuum-Hermetic Fumigation (V-HF) for rapid fumigation of high value commodities or for Oxygen-low long term storage. This technology kills all development stages of storage pests in up to three days at room temperature, and even faster at higher temperatures. A V-HF Cocoon™ is connected to a vacuum pump to reduce the O₂ in the Cocoon to a level lethal to the insects.

For safe transport of commodities in shipping containers. A multilayer, gas tight liner is inserted into a standard shipping container and will be sealed enabling accumulation of biogas (as in the case of cocoa beans) or alternatively use of artificially inserted CO₂. During transit time, the container will be "fumigated" ensuring insect-free arrival of the commodity. In addition, the TSL will prevent condensation.

GrainPro Bunkers™

Cost effective way to store large amounts of surplus grain in bulk without the need to invest substantial amounts in infrastructure. For any amount of grain above 5,000 tonnes (180,000 bu). For loading a large auger, grain thrower or large vacuum grain pump is needed to pile up the grain to a height of several meters. Unloading can be done by frontloader. Generally for grain below equilibrium MC’s.

Responding to the need for large volume fumigation of high-value commodities, GrainPro has developed and field tested an integrated system, PITS™, (which stands for Pesticide-free Integrated Transportation and Storage), patented, that provides for:
  1. rapid fumigation for disinfestation,
  2. transportation, and
  3. safe storage.
It begins with a special rapid-loading Cocoon™, called a PITS Tunnel™, in which disinfestation is accomplished using vacuum and whose load capacity matches that of a 20’ or 40’ shipping container.

Overview:

Overview:

This analyzer, specially developed for GrainPro, enables monitoring of O₂ levels of commodities kept under hermetic storage as well as control of CO₂ levels in the case of G-HF applications. Simple in design and reliable. Manual pump and digital display. Battery operated. A version with an electric pump is available on demand.

Overview:

The International Rice Research Institute (IRRI) has developed a low cost moisture meter to enable rice producers to determinate the correct moisture content of paddy for storage. The design of this moisture meter, manufactured by GrainPro in the Philippines, is based on the IRRI design and approved as such.
